Real Racine Skeleton Skamper Half Marathon and 5K
The 2014 Skeleton Skamper will be held on 10/25/2014! Registration will open soon.
The Skeleton Skamper Half Marathon and 5KM run/walk, taking place on Saturday, October 25th, offers a beautiful course with fall temperatures ideal for running. For those with longer distance ambitions, the half marathon is a great way to peak your training for the Madison Marathon that is new this fall For those not wanting to run as long, there is also a 5KM run option. Looking for a fun activity for the kids? Check out the Trick-or-Treat Walk for $5!
What: Half Marathon/5K Run, Trick or Treat Walk: Kids will receive goodies at 8 trick-or-treat stops on the 1/4-mile walking course. Parents are free to participate with their kids.
When: 10/25/2014. Half Marathon starts at 8:00 am, 5K starts at 8:15 am, Trick or Treat Walk starts at 9:15am.
Where: Sealed Air Family YMCA, 8501 Campus Dr, Mt. Pleasant, WI 53406
There will be a Festival following the walk, including free face painting, pumpkin decorating, carnival games, music and other fun activities!!

Awards will be given for overall male and female, as well as top three finishers (male and female) for 10 year age divisions for both the HALF MARATHON and the 5KM. Age divisions are:
5 KM Run: 10-Under, 11-14 and 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70 and up.
HALF MARATHON: 19 and under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70 and up.
Awards will also be given to the fastest three wheel chair competitors in each distance.

10/25/2014: Race Day - all events start and finish at Sealed Air Family YMCA
- 6:30 am-7:45 am Packet Pick-up and Registration
- 8:00 am Half Marathon run starts
- 8:15 am 5 KM run/walk starts
- 9:30 am - 1 pm Post Race festivities
Post Race Festivities:
Refreshments will be available near the finish line and is free to all runners. Beer will be provided. There will be snacks and refreshments served by race sponsors.
Music will be playing from 9:30am to 1:00pm.
The start and finish for both events will be at the Sealed Air Family YMCA in Mt. Pleasant, WI. The start and finish is on Campus Dr.
The Half Marathon course will take you around the streets and bike trails of Mt. Pleasant and the surrounding area..
The 5km course will start the same way as the Half Marathon course and will be an out and back course using city streets
On the Half Marathon course, aid stations will be spaced approximately every 2 miles. On the 5km Run/Walk, there will be one aid station about half way. Aid stations will be stocked with water and Gatorade. There will be a port-a-potty located at each aid station.
This event will be chip timed using disposable technologoies. You will not need to return your timing chip at the end of the race.
Participant and spectator parking is available at the YMCA. Parking will also be available on 90th Street to the north and south of the Mount Pleasant Civic Campus. This is a short walk to the start and finish lines.
Handicapped parking is available at the YMCA. This is located not far from the start and finish lines.
Please respect all "No Parking" signs. Vehicles parked in posted "No Parking" areas will be towed..

This race will be held rain or shine. In the event of severe weather, the race may be delayed or canceled. If the race is canceled there will be NO REFUNDS. Race Day Events has a NO REFUND policy. There are no refunds for any reason.
