Race Preview Clinics:

All of the races in our series have a preview clinic in the weeks leading up to the race. Each of these clinics is hosted by either a USAT certified coach or pro triathlete that is familiar with the course. Beginner triathletes and experienced athletes alike will benefit from this opportunity to preview the course with an experienced racer!

Wetsuit Use and Water Temperatures:

We often are asked about water temperatures and wetsuit use.  Race Day Events follows the USAT Water Temperature Recommendations (below). We do require wetsuits if the water temperature is below 60 degrees.  These decisions are made based on temperatures taken on the day of the race.

Series Scoring:

This series features series scoring and awards for age group and overall series winners! Here's how the scoring works:

At each race the overall winners (male and female) will be assigned 1,000 points. All other athletes points will be calculated by taking the winning time/your time*1,000.

For those non-math majors out there - here's an example: Will B Goodbiker wins Lake Mills with a time of 60 minutes on the nose. Will gets 1,000 points. Bob A Fastrunner comes in second with a time of 61 minutes on the nose. We would take (60 minutes/61 minutes)*1,000 = 983.6, so Bob gets 983.6 points. We'll tally those points up for 4 of the 6 races in the series, and the person with the most overall points wins.

Series Awards:

We've been working hard to make sure that we've got some awesome awards for both the overall and division winners in our series! The overall series will have the same divisions as the individual races. The Age Groups are: 19 & Under, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65 & Up, Athena, Clydesdale

Individual Event Awards:

In addition to the series awards, we've gotten some awesome prizes for individual races to give out in addition to our medals and trophies.

Battle of the Tri Groups:

The team at Race Day Events has been hard at work devising the perfect format for a "Battle of the Tri Groups". It is real simple, the group with the most members registered for the race wins. With prizes awarded for each individual race and for the entire series, what could be more fun. Here are the details:

Awards & Prizes:

  • Most participation for each race:
    • Your group will get a preferred team rack in transition at the next Wisconsin Tri Series race. What could be better than to rack all your bikes together as a team with plenty of space to enjoy. (ie: Group that wins Lake Mills will get their special rack at the Wisconsin Triterium Triathlon, etc.)
  • Most participation for the entire series:
    • Your group will be bestowed a custom trophy to recognize your achievement and the coach will receive one free Wisconsin Tri Series pass at the fall banquet.

What races are included in the Wisconsin Tri Series:

Lake Mills Triathlon (6/7), Wisconsin Triterium Triathlon (6/27), Pardeville Triathlon (7/11), Tri-ing for Children's Triathlon (7/26), Sugar River Triathlon (9/5), Devil's Lake Triathlon (9/20).

How to Battle:

Coaches must email a list of their members that were registered for the race by 5:00 PM on the Monday after the race to ryanh@racedayeventsllc.com
