Pardeeville Triathlon

Pardeeville is the 3rd race of the the 2013 WI Tri Series! At this sprint distance race on July 6, 2013, participants can expect a safe, technically sound and fun course.

  • Tech Tees for each of the series events

Race Preview Clinic:

All of the races in our series have a preview clinic in the weeks leading up to the race. Each of these clinics is hosted by either a USAT certified coach or pro triathlete that has done the race before and is familiar with the course. Beginner triathletes and experienced athletes alike will benefit from this opportunity to preview the course with an experienced racer!

The Pardeeville Triathlon preview clinic will be held at 6/23/2013 from 7:30-10:00AM at the race site. The preview clinic will be coached by Madison Multisport. No need to RSVP, just bring your race gear and be prepared for a course talk and walk through!

Course:

Swim: The swim takes place at Park Lake beach and follows the shore for 1/4 mile. There is a water safety team on the swim course if anyone needs assistance. NO swimmers will be allowed flotation devices. You need to be able to swim 1/4 mile in open water comfortably.

Bike: Take a left out of transition. Follow park exit, and turn left onto Lake Street, turn right on Hey P. Follow Hwy P until you reach Hwy SS. Take a right onto Hwy SS and follow Hwy SS until you reach Hwy G, take right onto Hwy G. Take a right onto Twitchel Rd, then take a left onto E. Bush Road. Take right onto Schwantz Rd, take left onto Lake St. Take right on Chandler Park Drive back into the transition area. The Bike course will be clearly marked with signs and volunteers will be on the course. For a map of the bike course, click here.

Run: Take a right out of transition and follow one loop around the park on Chandler Park Dr. Take right on Lake Street, left on Third Street, right on Chestnut Street, left on Spring Street, left on East LaFollette, right on Sanborn street, left on East LaFollette Street, left on Oak Street, go to the second stop sign and take  a right on Chestnut and go until the turn around. You'll come back on Chestnut, take a left on Oak Street, right on LaFollette, right on Sanborn, right on LaFollette, right on Spring Street, right on Chestnut Street, left on Third Street, right on Lake Street, left on Chandler Park Drive. The finish line will be on the left hand side of the park's exit. The run course will be clearly marked and volunteers will be present on the course. For a map of the run route, click here.

Transition Area: Transition is located in the baseball diamond in Chandler Park. Athletes should have their transition area set up at least a 1/2 hour before the race start.

Timing:

This event will be chip-timed. All athletes will be provided with "ChampionChip" sensors supplied by Sports Management Associates.

Awards:

Overall awards, 1st, 2nd & 3rd will be awarded to men and women. Overall awards will also be given to 1st, 2nd & 3rd relay teams.

Age Group awards, 1st, 2nd & 3rd will be awarded for each age group, men & women. Age groups are as follows: 19 & U, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64 and 65 & over.

Special Award Categories, 1st, 2nd & 3rd will be awarded to men in the Clydesdale category, women in the Athena category and men and women in the Novice category.

Packet Pick-up:

Early packet pick up will be Trek Bicycle Stores of Madison's west location on Mineral Point from 2PM - 6PM on Friday 7/5/2013.

On race morning, packet pick-up will start at 6:45 am at Chandler Park.

Chips will be handed out on race morning and body marking will take place race morning at the entry to transition.

Rule and Regulations:

  • Wetsuits may be worn
  • Helmets and swim caps are MANDATORY
  • Drafting is NOT permitted. Penalties and disqualification will be given for drafting
  • You MUST wear your velcro band with a timing chip on your ANKLE throughout the race. NO CHIP = NO TIME
  • All relay athletes will exchange the timing chip in transition
  • All athletes need to mount/dismount the bike at the mount/dismount mat
  • All runners are required to wear a bib number and it MUST face forward at the finish line
  • Racers and Spectators must follow volunteer instructions at all times

 

Refund and Inclement Weather Policy:

Race Day Events and the WI Tri Series has a strict NO REFUND policy. Refunds will not be issued for any reason, including race cancelation due to inclement weather. The race director reserves the right to cancel or alter the race and its course at any point in time to preserve racer safety.
