The Lake Mills Triathlon kicks off the 2015 Wisconsin Triathlon Series! This sprint distance race is a wonderful introductory event for beginner racers and the flat, fast course provides a competitive atmosphere for experienced racers. Each athlete will receive a technical t-shirt, a safe course with an experienced water safety team and a swim marked by large, highly-visible buoys.  Pre-race water and post-race refreshments will be served.

The course will be accurately measured and well-marked, and the race will be chip-timed by SMA timing.  Transition will be secure and professional bike SAG will be provided by the Trek Bicycle Store of Madison in transition and on the course.  

Throughout the season, the series scoring will be tracked.

Sprint - Relay






All prices include WI sales tax, but do not include the processing fee.


Sprint:    1/4 mile swim    16 mile bike    5K run


Swim: The swim takes place in Rock Lake. There is an experienced water safety team on the swim course if the event anyone needs assistance. NO swimmers will be allowed flotation devices. You must be able to swim 1/4 mile in open water comfortably.

Bike: The 16 mile bike course is held on country roads. The bike course is well marked and has plenty of volunteers on the course. Helmets ARE required and MUST BE FASTENED before leaving the transition area. Please stay on the right so other riders can pass you safely. There are no aid stations on the bike, so please plan accordingly. Run: The 5K run is an out and back route on the Glacier Drumlin Trail. There will be two water stations on the run course. The first will be located right outside transition, and the other will be located at the 5K turn around. All runners MUST wear a number. It should be worn facing the front. For a map, click here.

Transition Area: Transition is located in the Sandy Beach parking lot. Athletes should have their transition area set up at least a 1/2 hour before the race start.  Transition will be secure and only participants will be allowed into transition.  For respect to ALL participants, transition will close 15 minutes prior to the start of the first wave and will remain closed until the last person completes the bike portion of the event.

Race Preview Clinic: 

May 31, 2015 - 7:30am-10:00am - Sandy Beach Park

These clinics are the perfect opportunity for both new athletes to gain insight on what to expect on race day and seasoned veterans to shake off the rust and get ready for a new season. All will have the opportunity to become familiar with the race venue, practice the swim course, learn tips on speedy transitions, establish their race day routine, and feel confident and ready for race day.


Please come prepared with all your race day gear, including swim equipment (swim suit or tri outfit, goggles, swim cap), bike equipment (bike, helmet, shoes), and run gear (running shoes, hat).


Clinics are led by Madison Multisport Coach and multi-time Lake Mills & Wisconsin Triterium female champion, Cindi Bannink.

Race Day Events and the WI Tri Series have a strict NO REFUND policy. Refunds will not be issued for any reason, including race cancelation due to inclement weather. The race director reserves the right to cancel or alter the race and its course at any point in time to preserve racer safety.
